A message from the Chair.

Hello and good day to you all.

So much has been going on over the Summer of Pride I dont know where to start.

The Merton LGBT+ Forum proudly marched on the 8th July at London's greatest event. Lead by Rachel Simpkins who stepped in for me at the last minute our banner and new t-shirts were on display.  A big thank you to all of those who joined the march and had a good time supporting the forum.

There are a few pictures below.

Not content with London Pride our Rachel and the lovely Debbie also held the Merton LGBT+ Forum banner high at this weekends (15th July) Croydon Pride Festival with a march along North Street the ended in a celebration in The Queens Gardens Park.

Rachel and Debbie will also be attending TransPride in Brighton on the 22nd July.

Earlier in  May we held a special rememberance IDAHOT Day on the 17th at Merton Civic Centre in partnership with the Merton Council.

With over 30 people attending even the rain didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of thepeople who turned up at Morden Civic Centre to support International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia.

Opening speeches came from last years Mayor Brenda Fraser and Cllr Edith Macaulay, both supporters of the Merton LGBT+ Forum and the work we do for the whole Merton Community. A two minute silence the followed while the rainbow flag was raised.

Further speeches from myself and Natalie  and a chance for people to network and talk about the events of the day and the great work we at the Forum have been doing these past two years.

As I previously mentioned the Forum Newsletter is finished it and its published,We have finished working on the Summer edition which will is now ready.

Printed copies are available and  If you would like a printed verison  or would like to advertise something relating to the LGBT+ community or Merton then email us by clicking here and give us your addess.

Sunday Brunch will return in September after the Summer of Pride with the first being on the 17th September from 12 noon at All Bar One Wimbledon.

Again still loads going on and lots of work  to do to support all of the community in this great borough of ours.

Best wishes,
