Merton LGBT+ Forum

Merton LGBT+ Forum consists of a team of competent, committed and experienced directors and volunteers all who give up their valuable free time to support the LGBT Community in Merton.

Tyrone was asked in 2015 by the Policy, Strategy & Partnerships team at Merton Council to build the New Merton LGBT+ Forum as the previous one had closed down in 2013.

The new LGBT+ forum aims to support the LGBT+ community and strengthen our partnerships with the local authorities and service providers in Merton.

Tyrone was previously the chairman and founder of the Sutton LGBT Forum, in the past has  worked for Stonewall, been a member of London Pride's CAB board  and was a Director and Treasurer of GMFA.
When not working 24/7 in his spare time he loves gadgets/IT and Computers, loves to be with close friends and family, is a keen movie fan and has recently retaken up the piano. Look out Elton !








Patrick started his working career with 20 years in the Royal Navy as a professional seaman officer before leaving to work in the HIV/AIDS and then hospitality sectors. He spent several years as manager of a central London gay bar and restaurant, following this with time as a marketing director in the broadcast industry and then in a variety of roles in the charity sector. More recently, he has worked as Peter Tatchell’s general manager and as a professional charity fundraiser. Patrick has also been volunteering for over 25 years, mainly at a senior level. He co-led the successful ‘Gays in the Military’ campaign in the 90’s; was a director (and vice chair) of GMFA for 6 years and has been a director for London LGBT+ Community Pride (responsible for Community Engagement) since 2012.





Finance Director


Robin works for a charity helping vulnerable children. He also attends Sutton Vineyard Church where, amongst other things, he runs courses to show how people can build bridges with the LGBT community. He also helps out with Sutton Foodbank. 

Robin looks after all finance and funding matters for the board.



LGBT History Director / LGBT Seminars and Educational workshops

Chris is a fomer civil servant with an interest in LGBT History. He also runs our educational workshops and semminars on LGBT issues and related topics for Merton LGBT+ Forum and the community.




Sergeant /LGBT Police Liasion Officer 
Steve has worked for the Metropolitan Police Service since 2003 and led LGBT liaison for Wandsworth Borough before joining Merton Borough in August 2014.
Steve is currently the LGBT Liaison Officer for Merton and is the Police Sergeant for Mitcham Town Centre Team, Figges Marsh and Cricket Green wards.
Steve is passionate about raising hate crime awareness and promoting the importance of,reporting Hate Crime. In his spare time Steve enjoys running, cycling and spending time with his family and friends. 




Trans Representative Director and Social Events Organiser.
Rachel joins us to help put the T in Merton.
She was also a previous board member of TransPals organisation.
We value Rachel's consultantancy and advocate work on all Trans matters in our community and Rachel joins the Board at the Forum bringing new ideas and valued information.

Natalie / Nats
Youth Project Director
Natalie is our newest member and joins us as our new Project Leader for the new LGBT+ Youth Group and other Youth Projects.
Natalie is also works at the Endeavour Youth Club as a Youth Worker, works and lives in Merton and is already bringing some great new ideas to the Board.
