Merton LGBT+ Forum consists of a team of competent, committed and experienced directors and volunteers all who give up their valuable free time to support the LGBT Community in Merton.

Patrick

Patrick

Secretary / Health Lead

Patrick started his working career with 20 years in the Royal Navy as a professional seaman officer before leaving to work in the HIV/AIDS and then hospitality sectors. He spent several years as manager of a central London gay bar and restaurant, following this with time as a marketing director in the broadcast industry and then in a variety of roles in the charity sector. More recently, he has worked as Peter Tatchell’s general manager and as a professional charity fundraiser.

Patrick has also been volunteering for over 25 years, mainly at a senior level. He co-led the successful ‘Gays in the Military’ campaign in the 90’s; was a director (and vice chair) of GMFA for 6 years and has been a director for London LGBT+ Community Pride (responsible for Community Engagement) since 2012.

Robin

Robin

Finance Director

Robin works for a charity helping vulnerable children. He also attends Sutton Vineyard Church where, amongst other things, he runs courses to show how people can build bridges with the LGBT community. He also helps out with Sutton Foodbank.

Robin looks after all finance and funding matters for the board.

Communications Manager

Ben Glover is an artist and designer who graduated with a Master’s in Digital Theatre at Wimbledon College of Art.

He is looking forward to bring his creative and technical skills to the Merton LGBT+ Forum. In his spare time he enjoys watching football, rocking out at a gig and going to the theatre.

Rachel

Rachel

Trans Representative Director and Social Events Organiser

Rachel joins us to help put the T in Merton.
She was also a previous board member of TransPals organisation.
We value Rachel’s consultantancy and advocate work on all Trans matters in our community and Rachel joins the Board at the Forum bringing new ideas and valued information.

Natalie Harris (Nats)

Director of Youth

Natalie started out her career within the marketing and design industry before starting her own family. Alongside this she joined and became a qualified youth worker at Endeavour Youth Club where she helps out in the sessions and to raise funds. She also helped the club to gain its Silver quality mark with The London Youth Quality Mark (AQYP).
With 2 of her own young children and lots of experience with working with children and young people Natalie has the passion and commitment to bring our youth club to the young people who identify as LGBT+. She welcomes new ideas and suggestions, so please get in touch.

LGBT History Director / LGBT Seminars and Educational workshops

Chris is a former civil servant with an interest in LGBT History. He also runs our educational workshops and seminars on LGBT issues and related topics for Merton LGBT+ Forum and the community.
