A message from the Chair.

Hello and good day to you all.

We held a special rememberance IDAHOT Day on the 17th May at Merton Civic Centre.

With over 30 people attending even the rain didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of thepeople who turned up at Morden Civic Centre to support International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia.

With opening speeches from Mayor Brenda Fraser and Cllr Edith Macaulay, both supports of the Merton LGBT+ Forum, we held a two minute silence while the rainbow flag was raised.

Further speeches from myself and Natalie followed and a chance for people to network and talk about the events of the day and the great work we at the Forum have been doing these past two years.

As I previously mentioned the Forum Newsletter is  finished it and its published, live here on the website and our FaceBook and Twitter pages.

We are currently working on the Summer edition.

Printed copies are available and  If you would like a printed verison  or would like to advertise something relating to the LGBT+ community or Merton then email us by clicking here and give us your addess.

Sadly we will be hosting our very last 50+ Coffee Group on the 24th, this last session will be on the subject of Polari and will be taken by Chris Park.

Do not fret the Wandsworth LGBT Forum will be running the same events and more information on those can be sort by contacting them on

Also look out for the new Hate Crime Awareness Workshops coming in June in partnership with Merton Police Team (Digital Dave Haywood) , Victim Support, DV One Stop and Merton Council Safer Neighbourhood team.

We will be marching with Pride at London's greatest event this year Pride in London on the 8th July. If you would like to join us please contact us with you details by clicking here.

Again still loads to do to support all of the community in this great borough of ours.
